Your initial evaluation happens at our Rockville or Frederick office. A first psychiatric workup covers more than a video call can carry, and we will not start care over telehealth alone.

Once you are an established patient, medication checks and ongoing follow-up can happen from home, work, or anywhere else in Maryland on a private connection.

Licensure rules require you to be physically in Maryland at the time of the visit. If you are traveling out of state, we schedule an office visit or wait until you are back.

Insurance and telehealth
Telehealth follow-ups for established patients are billed to the same plans we accept in the office, including Medicare, Maryland Medicaid, and major commercial carriers. Plans differ on their specific telehealth rules, so we confirm yours when we verify benefits.
Copays are usually the same as an office visit, but not always. If your plan treats video visits differently, we tell you before the appointment.

Do I have to be in Maryland for a telehealth visit?
Yes. You must be physically located in Maryland at the time of the appointment. Our providers are licensed to practice in Maryland, and out-of-state visits are not allowed.
Is telehealth covered by insurance?
On the plans we accept, usually yes. Telehealth follow-ups are billed to the same carriers as office visits. We confirm your plan's telehealth rules during benefits verification.
Is my copay different for telehealth?

What platform do you use?
We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform. Most patients join from a browser link on their phone, tablet, or computer. We send the link before your appointment.
What if my connection drops mid-visit?
Reconnect with the same link. If that fails, call the office at (240) 599-1001 and we will finish by phone or reschedule.
Can I do TMS or Spravato by telehealth?
No. Deep TMS, Spravato, and IM ketamine require in-clinic visits. Telehealth is for psychiatric follow-up and medication management after you are established.
Who do I see on a telehealth visit?
The same psychiatrist or nurse practitioner who manages your care in the office. Your chart is shared across video and in-person visits.
