Isn't TMS the same as shock therapy?
Completely different. ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) induces seizures under general anesthesia. TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses — similar to an MRI — with no seizures, no anesthesia, and no memory loss. You sit in a chair, feel a light tapping, and drive home. They are nothing alike.
