Many practices in the Washington, D.C. metro area have stopped accepting Medicare or only take it for select services. The result is long wait lists, limited options, and patients who end up paying out of pocket despite having coverage they’ve earned.

Treatments offered

Treatments Available at Bright Horizons

The full range of outpatient adult psychiatric care, from evaluation and medication management through FDA-cleared neuromodulation and Spravato for treatment-resistant depression.

Psychiatric Evaluation

Your first visit is a 60 to 90 minute comprehensive evaluation with a board-certified psychiatrist. We review your mental health history, current symptoms, previous treatments, current medications, medical conditions, and treatment goals.

Medication Management

Ongoing visits every two to four weeks early in treatment, extending to monthly or less as you stabilize. Visits are long enough to discuss side effects, adjust dosing thoughtfully, and coordinate with your other physicians. Learn more →

Deep TMS

FDA-cleared Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment for depression that hasn’t responded to medication. Many Maryland Medicaid plans cover Deep TMS for treatment-resistant depression when clinical criteria are met, including documentation of at least four failed medication trials.

Treatment involves 36 sessions over approximately six to nine weeks, each lasting about 20 minutes. You drive yourself to and from each session. We handle prior authorization and clinical documentation.

Spravato (Esketamine)

FDA-approved Spravato is a nasal spray medication for treatment-resistant depression, administered on-site at our clinic with clinical monitoring during and after each session. Many Maryland Medicaid plans cover Spravato when clinical criteria are met.

Patients come in twice weekly initially, tapering over time. Most patients notice improvement within the first few weeks. We handle prior authorization.

Telehealth Follow-up Across Maryland

Once you’re established in care through an in-person evaluation, ongoing medication management visits can be conducted via telehealth across Maryland. Useful when transportation, work schedules, or childcare makes in-person visits harder.
