Adult ADHD, Anxiety, and Depression Care in Silver Spring, MD
Adults in Silver Spring looking for an ADHD evaluation, anxiety care, or depression treatment often run into long waits and appointments too short to be useful. We do full diagnostic evaluations and ongoing medication management, and you see the same clinician at every follow up.
Our practice is led by Dr. Amir Etesam, a Johns Hopkins affiliated psychiatrist, alongside two psychiatric nurse practitioners. We accept most major commercial plans along with Medicare and Maryland Medicaid, and we see patients from Takoma Park, Four Corners, White Oak, and Kemp Mill as well as Silver Spring.
Care we focus on for Silver Spring patients
Why Silver Spring Patients Choose Bright Horizons
Silver Spring is the largest and most diverse community in Montgomery County, and adult ADHD is where local capacity falls shortest. Patients tell us they were told a practice only assesses children, or that an adult evaluation carries a wait measured in months, or that their diagnosis was made in fifteen minutes and never revisited since.
We evaluate adults properly. That means a full history rather than a symptom checklist, an honest look at whether anxiety, depression, or poor sleep is driving the attention problem, and a medication plan that gets adjusted based on how you actually respond. You see the same psychiatrist or nurse practitioner at each visit, and we coordinate with the therapist or primary care doctor you already have.
Advanced options when medication is not enough
We also offer BrainsWay Deep TMS, Spravato, and IM ketamine at our Rockville clinic for adults whose depression or OCD has not responded to medication. These are not first line options and we only raise them after a full evaluation.

Questions about care near Silver Spring
How long is the drive from Silver Spring to your Rockville clinic?
About 20 to 25 minutes from most Silver Spring addresses via Georgia Avenue, Veirs Mill Road, or the Beltway, depending on traffic.
Do you serve Takoma Park, Four Corners, and White Oak as well?
Yes. We see patients from across the Silver Spring area including Takoma Park, Four Corners, White Oak, and Kemp Mill.
Do you evaluate adults for ADHD, or only treat an existing diagnosis?
Both. We do full diagnostic evaluations for adults who have never been assessed, and we review existing diagnoses when the current treatment is not working.
Who we treat — and who we do not
We are an adult outpatient practice. We do not treat Bipolar I, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, or personality disorders, and we do not provide long acting antipsychotic injections. We also do not offer inpatient care, partial hospitalization, or 24 hour crisis services. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or go to your nearest emergency department. If your needs fall outside our scope, call us anyway and we will point you toward the right program.
