TMS, Spravato, and Advanced Psychiatry Serving Bethesda, MD

Bethesda residents looking for advanced psychiatric care have a specialty clinic 15 minutes north on I-270. We focus on treatment-resistant depression, complex mood and anxiety disorders, and adult ADHD for patients who want more than standard medication management.

Our practice offers TMS therapy, Spravato (esketamine), IM ketamine, and comprehensive medication management under one roof, led by a Johns Hopkins-affiliated psychiatrist. We accept most major commercial insurance plans accepted by Bethesda employers and federal benefit programs.

Why Bethesda Patients Choose Bright Horizons

Bethesda has plenty of psychiatrists. Far fewer practices offer TMS, Spravato, and IM ketamine in the same clinic, and even fewer specialize specifically in treatment-resistant depression. That depth is what brings Bethesda patients to us, especially those who have tried two or more medications without enough relief.

Our clinic is led by Dr. Amir Etesam, a Johns Hopkins-affiliated psychiatrist, alongside two psychiatric nurse practitioners. We treat adults who need more than a 15-minute med check, and we build treatment plans around evidence-based combinations of medication, neuromodulation, and care coordination with your existing therapist or primary care doctor.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first appointment is in person at our Rockville clinic and runs 60 to 90 minutes. We do a full psychiatric evaluation, review your medication and treatment history in depth, and have an honest conversation about what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what makes sense to try next. If TMS, Spravato, or ketamine is appropriate, we walk through the process and the insurance coverage before anything is scheduled.

After your initial evaluation, ongoing follow-up appointments can be in person or virtual from anywhere in Maryland.
